Home Depot launched Husky Connect in 2016: a lower-priced modular system aimed at DIYers, sold only under Home Depot’s Husky brand. In 2023 Husky launched Build-Out, a newer system with external rails for attachments. Build-Out doesn’t lock onto Connect.

Can you still buy it?

Husky hasn’t announced that Connect is discontinued. But Home Depot’s Connect listings show no stock (checked October 1, 2026), and Build-Out is now what Husky sells on the shelf. Modular Toolbox only lists systems you can buy new, so Connect isn’t in the catalogue.

Does Build-Out fit Connect?

No. ToolGuyd asked the question when Build-Out launched, and the answer was a flat “no”. Owners with a Connect stack are left with a system nothing else latches to. If you’re adding a lot, it may be cheaper overall to start over on a current system than to hunt for used Connect pieces.

Choosing what’s next

At Home Depot the choice is Husky Build-Out or RIDGID Pro Gear 2.0. Both are store exclusives and neither stacks with Connect. The comparison below puts them side by side.

Questions

Is Husky Connect discontinued?

Husky hasn't announced it, but Home Depot's Connect listings show no stock, and Husky's newer Build-Out system (2023) has taken its place on shelves. Treat Connect as end-of-line: buy used, or start new pieces on a current system.

Is Husky Build-Out compatible with Husky Connect?

No. Build-Out uses a different latch and doesn't lock onto Connect pieces.

Does Husky Connect stack with RIDGID Pro Gear or other brands?

We have found no source saying Husky Connect locks onto any other brand's system.

What should I buy instead of Husky Connect?

At Home Depot, the current Husky system is Build-Out, and RIDGID Pro Gear 2.0 is the store's other modular line. Neither stacks with Connect, so whichever you pick starts a new stack.
